The AC Group of Independent Accounting Firms Limited (“The AC Group”) is a Nova Scotia corporation which was registered on April 7, 2005. Its objective is to provide certain administrative and professional services for participating Chartered Accountancy firms located throughout Atlantic Canada. The AC Group provides no client services. Each member firm is an independent entity and has no authority to obligate or bind The AC Group or any other member firm vis-à-vis third parties, nor does The AC Group have any such authority to obligate or bind any member firm. Governing Body The AC Group is governed by a Management Committee selected by the Board of Directors. The current Board of Directors is composed of:

The AC Group also establishes standing committees to assist the Board and President and Executive Officer in providing guidance and oversight in major functions of the Group, such as Education, Standards and Quality Control, Information Technology and Taxation. Other committees and task forces are formed on an ad hoc basis when considered appropriate.
President and Executive Officer The President and Executive Officer of The AC Group is Robert Caswill FCA, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, in accordance with the strategic plan and related annual business plans approved by the Board. Prior to accepting this position, Caswill had been the Executive Director of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia, Director of Education for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba, and a Senior Manager in CICA Studies and Standards, as well as having twelve years of public practice experience with national firms in Winnipeg and Bermuda.
