The AC Group of Independent Accounting Firms Limited (“The AC Group”) is a Nova Scotia corporation registered on April 7, 2005. Its objective is to provide certain administrative and professional services for participating Chartered Accountancy firms located throughout Atlantic Canada.

The AC Group provides no client services. Each member firm is an independent entity and has no authority to obligate or bind The AC Group or any other member firm vis-à-vis third parties, nor does The AC Group have any such authority to obligate or bind any member firm.

Governing Body

The AC Group also establishes standing committees to assist the Board and Executive Officer in providing guidance and oversight in major functions of the Group, such as Education, Standards, Information Technology, Practice Management, Client Service, HR and Taxation. Other committees and task forces are formed on an ad hoc basis when considered appropriate.

President and Executive Officer

The current President and Executive Officer of The AC Group is Susan J. McIsaac FCPA, FCA, who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, in accordance with the strategic plan and related annual business plans approved by the Board.

Susan has almost 25 years of public accounting experience, and is the founding partner of the Amherst, NS AC Group firm McIsaac Darragh. She has taken a strong interest in her profession throughout her career, and served for many years in the governance of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia (ICANS), including a term as President.

Susan is also committed to standards and ethical conduct, as well as professional development and life-long learning. She regularly presents a variety of courses for Provincial Institutes and is sought out as a speaker at conferences and public events. She was awarded an FCA designation from the NS Institute in 2007 in recognition of her achievements and contributions.

 Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant to the AC Group is Kaili Pipes. As the Executive Assistant for the Group, Kaili is responsible for making sure all administrative and corporate operations of the Company are taken care of, as well as assisting the Executive Officer and member firms when in need.

Kaili is a current Mount Saint Vincent University student, and was Valedictorian of her graduating class at NSCC successfully completing the Paralegal Diploma program at the top of her class. Kaili has a rounded education in both the administrative and corporate worlds, and prides herself on her attention to detail and client service.

Kaili is a resident of Cumberland County, Nova Scotia and is a proud volunteer for organizations such as Cumberland Community Life, the Amherst RCSCC 258 Sea Cadet Corps, and Coordinator for the local Terry Fox Run.
