Bishop & Company has been committed to client success for over 30 years. Founded by retired partner Raymond Bishop in 1982, the Firm is now led by partners Greg Miller, Loretta Kalkman and Marcel Godbout. With a staff compliment of 20 people, the Firm provides a wide range of professional services in the areas of audit & assurance, taxation, business information technology, succession & estate planning, business advisory and risk management.
The Firm’s foundation was built within the Agriculture and Rural Business sector and the Ag team understands its specific needs and challenges and provides solutions that work.

Loretta is a Dalhousie University grad and received her CA designation in 1986. She returned to her home town and started with the Firm in 1992. Since that time, she has worked in all areas of public practice.
Loretta is an active community volunteer and has been a Board member of the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce since 2011. She is a member of the Practice Standards Review Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of NS.
She manages the assurance practice at Bishop & Company and works with clients ranging from small not-for-profits to large manufacturing and processing Co-operatives and corporations.

Greg graduated from Saint Mary’s University, achieved his CA designation in 1995 and joined the Firm in 1989.
Greg has developed his primary focus in agriculture and his work within this sector includes accounting, assurance, income tax, succession planning and agri-programs.

Marcel is a Saint Mary’s University grad and received his CA designation in 1996. He is a tax specialist and joined the Firm in 2008 with over 15 years’ experience in providing financial advice and business counsel to clients from a wide range of industries.
Originally from Quebec, Marcel is raising his young family in the Valley and has been an active volunteer with the Wolfville Business Development Corporation. Marcel sits on the CPA Canada SMP Tax Committee.
Marcel advises clients in estate and succession planning, corporate organization and effective tax planning strategies tailored to meet their specific requirements.
